The painful growng year - The stressful JC student

Saw a student from one of the top JCs. Outstanding, smart with good results and CCA. However, few and not even her parents know the stress she faces each day. The stress to perform better than her siblings, the expectations from her peers and teachers have taken a toll on her.

She started to hurt herself by making mutliple fine cuts on her wrist and even shins. Was amazed that that the parents did not notice the 'marks'. Are we parents too preoccupied to notice what our children are facing? Are we too busy with chasing our own dreams and aspirations as to neglect our children?

Spent time counselling her and will follow her up. Advise to all teenage students--please share with you love ones all you ups and downs. To seek help when you are facing difficulties in your struggling years. Many are out there willing to give you a helping hand. Parents, learn to listen so that your kids will talk and kids learn to listen too when your parents talk.

What a day! To see a child having to go through the stressful teenage years.

A challenging day - Brain tumour

Life is very unpredictable. A well middle age patient with a month headache was sent for CT scan. Was called by the radiologist that there was a brain tumour. Challenging in how to convey the message to her. Challenging in how to describe to her what to expect and what need to be done over the phone.

Manage to get all the things done and arranged. Life is fleeting and day in day out cases like this surface. Just want to tell everyone to live life to the fullest. To enjoy the company of family, and friends. Do not be too tied down to the things of the world.

Everyone thinks that he or she is having a tough time. Well, look around you and be comforted that somewhere, somehow there is always someone worst than you.....

Are primary school students facing stress in schools?
